I was prediabetic when I joined in March 2024 Paul.
Thankfully, I reversed that and am no longer pre diabetic.
I do check A1C every 2 months and it remains at 5.3 to 5.4.
Good day to all. Talking about diabetes is not an often subject that people open up to BUT since my friends, colleagues, family members saw me when I was 230-260lbs then now my weight is at 160-170lbs, they open up and ask more questions if not for them or someone they know or are close to them. I am glad to oblige them with my personal experiences, matters I read from books as well as what I get and understand from DT and various members. Nothing judgemental, just an open discussion. Pre-diabetes I tell them can be controlled not easy but can be done and encourage them to do so.
@A DiabetesTeam Member Totally agree. My ex who was an RN was very angry at my brother when I had multiple blood clots and he was questioning my habits and in essence shaming me.
Here are key ways to support someone with prediabetes in preventing progression to type 2 diabetes:
• Take a supportive "we're in this together" approach rather than being judgmental
• Offer to exercise together instead of just telling them what to do
• Ask how you can help rather than giving unsolicited advice

I'm pre diabetic and I think I do ok controlling it. I exercise every day for 80 minutes doing something I enjoy. I've lost more than 50lbs since March 2024. I try and eat well. No pasta, white rice, bread, or sugar. I no longer eat pizza, fast food or processed foods. I'm seeing a dietitian in September and my A1c will be checked in November. I'm not sure what more I can do. I know sometimes I get scared about becoming diabetic, but maybe that's not all so bad!
