That's quite a lot of water! While staying hydrated is important for managing diabetes, 200 ounces (about 6 liters) is actually more than most people need. The general recommendation is to drink enough water so that you're not thirsty and your urine is light yellow in color.

For people with diabetes, staying well-hydrated helps maintain blood sugar levels and overall health. However, drinking excessive amounts of water isn't necessarily better and could potentially be harmful in some cases.

It would be a good idea to discuss your water intake with your healthcare provider, as they can give you personalized guidance based on your specific health needs, medications, and activity level. They can help determine if this amount is appropriate for your situation.

Lisa, there is such a thing as water intoxication. 11 1/2 cups should be the max. I know you need extra water if you still take Jardiance. I too have to drink extra because of the Farxiga.
