There are several direct ways to get help paying for insulin. Start by contacting the manufacturer of your specific insulin - companies like Sanofi, Novo Nordisk, and Eli Lilly all offer patient assistance and savings programs that could significantly reduce your costs. These programs are specifically designed to help people who are struggling to afford their insulin. Your local health department can be an excellent resource for finding free or low-cost diabetes care. They can connect you with free and charitable clinics in your area. Additionally, if you're a Medicare recipient, look into the Senior Savings Model program which offers significant savings on insulin costs through participating plans. Don't hesitate to discuss medication costs with your healthcare provider. They may be able to switch you to a lower-cost insulin option that's covered by your insurance. Remember, many others face similar challenges - healthcare costs for people with diabetes are typically twice as high as those without the condition, but there are resources available to help.

Fortunately I'm not on insulin, but as with many I have invested to try and
stop this train wreck. Money is scarce

Joyce, my hug isn't registering. My pharmacist had a family operation and was sympathetic to his client's needs He knew how to play with my insurance. Your pharmacist might have some tricks up his sleeve. In the end what's good for you is good for him. Wishing you good fortune with this issue, Joyce. Oh, the hug did register.
