It's a nice sunny day in my piece of Eastern Ontario so I was out on my front porch getting a dose of Vitamin D - we need that particularly in the winter if you are in the Northern Hemisphere

@A DiabetesTeam Member Walmart, at least in Canada sells a brand of (keto) Ice Cream called CoolWay - another (Ontario) Dairy called Chapman's makes a zero sugar ice cream as well
In many cases they add polyols in place of the sugar which do not contribute to net carbs
So in the case of the CoolWay stuff, which tastes pretty good by the way, 3/4 cup (typical scoop) is 1 net carb - the whole tub (500 ml/about 13oz) is less than 3 net carbs

Mary, those aren't good foods whether you have diabetes or not. Even a diabetic can eat them in moderation. When I was initially diagnosed my PCP informed me of that. But, to call pizza and ice good foods is a dubious statement I believe.
As regards diabetics metabolism vs non d metabolism reminds me of the old joke:
Diabetic niece to diabetic uncle:
“Uncle how do I know which foods to eat?”
Uncle: “it’s simple, if it tastes good spit it out.”
That could be the story of my life!

U was 343lbs in June of 2022. I am now 176. No longer type 2. Now...Pre. I will soon be off of Metformin thank God! It is frustrating but in the end...to me...it has been worth it! God is Good!
