Eat lots of iron rich foods ie: lots of dark green vegetables (cavalo nero, kale, spinach, spring greens, broccoli, savoy cabbage, sprouts, oily fish) etc they all contain significant levels of iron that will really help your anemia the darker green the vegetable the higher the iron content !

Cancer Risk and Rates is a lot "lower" in Diabetics compared to the rest of the population and particularly in the "over 65 gang", Diabetics see Cancer rates less then half of non-diabetics in all Cancers except Liver and Pancreas

So Diabetes Sucks but it also "statistically" significantly lowers your Cancer risk

Anemia is "related" to Diabetes in that high blood sugar damage to the vascular system can cause anemia particularly if there is micro-vascular damage to the Kidneys - any eGFR below 90 is a signal of some kidney impairment which may be at least partially due to blood sugar damage

As someone who has both conditions plus diabetes, the answer is yes.
Diabetes causes kidney problems.Kidney problems cause a failure to produce erythropoietin, a substance that helps make red blood cells..shortage of red blood cells.......anaemia.
