Hi @A DiabetesTeam Member, and all you warriors.
Doctors use 2 numbers in treatment decisions. The 1st number is morning fasting blood glucose.

What is your number at 2 hours. That is the other number that doctors use in treatment decisions.

To live your best life with diabetes. You will control your numbers to the nondiabetic range of 4.0(72 usa) to 7.8(140 usa).

This will not add to cumulative vascular damage from glucose spikes. Those glucose spikes feed diabetes complications and comorbidities.

Like heart damage, kidney damage, peripheral neuropathy, slow healing, amputations, diabetic dementia, diabetic ketoacidosis, and more.

I shoot for controlling my 2 hour number below 7.5(135 usa) to give me a little cushion.

Do what you think is best.
Most diabetics can handle 100-130 net carbs daily. Some can only 50-60 handle net carbs daily. Some can only tolerate 20-30 net carbs daily.

Experiment and see where your numbers fall. 15 carbs per meal is a good starting point. You can adjust up or down after a couple of months.

Good luck.

I usually wait 2 hours to check my BS after a meal. It is normal to go up after eating,as long as it doesn't stay in that range for a long period of time. Portion control helps those numbers to stay at a better range. If you can drink water without restrictions,it will help you're body to utilize insulin, more effectively. Best wishes
