A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone take LYRICA for nerve damage? Does it help? Is there anything else you take for the unbearable pain?

@A DiabetesTeam Member she was on Pregabalin and it started working within a couple of days

She had localized nerve pain between the hip and the knee on her left leg - bad enough that she couldn't walk on it and it was just a couple days before she walking with a mild limp and even that went away within a week or so

Do you know how long the Gabapentin took to start working for your wife Graham?

My Wife took Lyrica for a number of years - worked great for her

Neurontin (Gabapentin) is the other "non-opioid" drug that is popular for nerve pain

My husband has taken Lyrica for seizures control since about 2000. It has helped him greatly. He is having to change to the generic of it probably in June. He is losing patient assistance from Pfizer and Lyrica brand name is not covered through Medicare. He also takes Dilantin (brand name) for seizures. As far as we know he has had no serious side affects while taking it.
