The best supplement for tiredness related to Diabetes is keeping your blood sugar in a normal range

If you are tired because of high average blood sugar there is no supplement that will make that better

For general metabolic health (and Type 2 is a metabolic disorder) then there are dozens of supplements that will "help a little"

A daily Probiotic and/or Fiber supplements help with "gut health" which better regulates blood sugar

Chromium can improve insulin resistance and most diabetics are deficient

B12 is often deficient in Type 2's but if you are actually "deficient" they you need a medical grade injection, not the bottle from the drugstore - your B12 levels can be checked when you do an A1C test - overdosing on B12 can harm the kidney's

As Pat notes B-Complex may be deficient, but be careful and possibly seek the advice of your doctor or nutritionist because WE can overdose on B Vitamins

There are a truckload of traditionals/naturals that "may" work for you (the pesky metabolic disorder again - I might need A and you need B and neither works for the other) including (and I'm missing dozens):

Aegle Marmelos (Wood Apple)
Coriandrum Sativum (Coriander)
Syzygium Cumini (Black plum)
Murraya Koenigii (Curry tree)
Gymnema Sylvestre (Retz.)
Phyllanthus Emblica (Indian Gooseberry)
Momordica Charantia (Bitter melon)
Ocimum Tenuiflorum (Holy basil)
Coccinia Grandis (Ivy Gourd)
Silybum Marianum (Milk Thistle)
Cinnamomum Verum (Ceylon Cinnamon)
Zingiber Officinale Roscoe (Ginger)
Allium Sativum (Garlic)

Just keep in mind that these traditionals/naturals that were used to treat Diabetes for 3000 years before real medication was discovered resulted in Death Due to Diabetic Complications 100% of the time - they are better than nothing - do a "little bit" Maybe if you actually need what they are providing and even if you took all of them a single 500mg dose of Metformin would do "more"

And some of these "supplements" don't play well with other medications (for any/all conditions), so you should never simply start popping them without medical advice

But anything we can do to improve our overall metabolism and blood sugar control is going to "help" - just not "do it all itself"

@A DiabetesTeam Member Both (diets) are highly rated for both weight loss and diabetes control but they are also far more restrictive then the average person would undertake

And there are a number of diets that are great for diabetics the key is simply "you have to follow them" - how well they are rated doesn't matter if you can't stick to them

Myself I follow a Low Carb/High Fat (LCHF) diet a.k.a. The Banting Diet where I simply restrict to <130 carbs/day and then track for <2000 cal/day to maintain my weight - works for me - no meds - last A1C was 5.6%

And that is the beauty - there is no "one way/only way" to manage - something to fit just about everyone IF they dedicate themselves and get stubborn

Not quite on the topic of supplements but i have found intermittent fasting and keto diet of huge value. Not only has it been responsible for weight loss but i have experienced a way sharper mind and higher energy level. I am trying various supplements too as well as running rife protocols but i think the IF is the biggest tool i have found so far learning to live with my diabetes. My goal is to not have to take medication or supplements and have my glucose under control. Looks to me like this is doable with diet and exercise alone.
