Thats what I waas told...my eyes are damaged...im taking shots every 6 weeks...ive had 3 treatments...still hasnt helped...my a1c is 6.2....and I watch carbs and all the above...hope it helps you....and it does not hurt...but cost me 100 everytime.....

Keeping your glucose in as tight a range as possible will definitely help.4-10/72-180 or even tighter 4-7.8/72-134
