Keep your blood sugar in as tight a range as possible.4-10/72-180 is standard,4-8.5/72-149 is what diabetes UK suggests,4-7.8/72-64 is non diabetic range TITR for us diabetics.
Get eyes checked to discover whether blurriness due to glaucoma or retinopathy ( maybe neither).

The general focus is that diabetes or related ailments are the cause. Also have a look at side effects of your meds. After reading about statins, I stopped cold turkey and my itching for the most part has disappeared.
So has the tingling and burning sensations in my toes and feet. My balance has improved and so has my eyesight (my use of spectacles is very limited now). Now this may not work for everyone, but I ran no risk of the supposed CVD it helps stem, but I knew that I did not have CVD in the family. I stopped statins about a year ago and enjoying a better quality of life. And my LDL levels have not worsened either and still within 'acceptable' limits. But LDL is another story...
Metformin and blood pressure meds also exhibit itching side effects.
I have now migrated to blood pressure management, easy to monitor and it emcompasses a more holistic approach rather than only diet. Slowly, albeit it slowly I am weaning myself off meds. Living and eating better. And it works for me. Oh, and I sleep much better too. The irony of some meds for diabetics is that it increases blood sugar levels too, and inhibits absorption of some minerals. I do not use supplements which I think does more harm than good, and get my magnesium and potassium and other minerals from fruit and vegetables. It works for me.
