My Great-Grandfather was diagnosed with Sugar Diabetes (Type 2) in 1920 at age 50

At 101, having never experienced a complication, still able to walk fine, living in a veterans "assisted living place" (not a full blown nursing home), 51 years with "no meds", went for a walk with his neighbour (young guy in his 90's) down to the local pub to celebrate his 101st birthday which had occurred about 6 days earlier

We Harry overdid it a bit, they stumbled home, made it to his room where he passed out on his bed laying on his back

Of course he vomited and suffocated himself

51 years of diabetes, 101 years old, could still walk and get drunk enough to snuff himself out

He is my Hero and I want to go out like him

So, young man, at 82 almost 83, 19 years from now you can act like my hero - it might be possible

(ps. true story about my Great-Grandfather)
