Depending on your Age you may have been initially diagnosed as Type 2 when in fact you had L.A.D.A. which is not exactly Type 1 but it is an auto-immune type of Diabetes just like Type 1
The same anti-bodies that cause Type 1 can cause LADA except with LADA it is usually only 1 of the 2 anti-bodies that effect the patient so instead of "almost immediately" becoming diabetic (Type 1) when things go wrong, because it's only 1 anti-body it can take months or even years before full onset
LADA is often misdiagnosed in people age 35 and under
It looks like Type 2 in the beginning and is treated exactly the same way - with Type 2 drugs - there is no "LADA" drugs
But when it progresses then you need insulin - the Type 2 meds won't work "anymore"
So not sure what you can take legal action against? It was your body that messed up whether it was Type 2, LADA or Type 1 and LADA was never screened for until a couple years ago (and still isn't even known by most doctors)
I am a little curious. Did the same doctor give you the two different diagnoses??? I am sure though this is not a legal suit situation. But I'd get another opinion and try to make sure which level it is 1 or 2. Then, follow what is necessary to put you straight for that type.
How did that happen?
