Hi @A DiabetesTeam Member, and @A DiabetesTeam Member,
It sounds like Diabetes peripheral neuropathy.
Cumulative vascular damage from glucose spikes over time will slow circulation and begin to damage nerves, especially in your extremities. Since your feet are further from your heart, they are affected first.
Increasing circulation can help. Medications like Lyrica help. My Bride uses Voltaren gel, gabapentin painkillers, lidocaine patches. My mom swore by Salonpas pads.
But the best thing you can do is control your numbers to the nondiabetic range of 4.0(72) to 7.8(140). This will stop adding to the cumulative additional vascular damage from glucose spikes that kills nerves.
This will arrest diabetes complications and comorbidities right where they are now.
Do this or don't do this.
It is simple.
Begin eating to your blood glucose meter, while you can control your quality of life.
Thank you, your very right, and I'd prefer watching my numbers and adjusting my diet then getting more toes removed....
Hopefully you'll get some answers, I have the same thing, very annoying
