You need a medalert bracelet or necklace because you take Glipizide, a sulfonurea.
Sulfonureas can cause dangerously low blood glucose numbers. These low numbers lead to coma and death.
When in coma you need some way to let medicals know you are diabetic.
So get and wear your medic alert bracelet or necklace at all times. It could save your life.
It doesn't hurt and if you are insulin dependent or taking Sulfonylurea's it could save your life if you were unconscious and being taken care by first responders or emergency departments
Any heads up on your medical condition if you need help is going to make the whole thing turn out better - so why not
Mine (I wear a dogtag necklace) has my Type 2 and Hypertension on it - so an emergency department will not give me certain IV meds given my medical conditions which they typically would if they didn't know
