What Does “quality Of Life” Mean For You? What Makes Your Life Worth It?
A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭

Maybe you are working on the basics. Food, shelter, love, sex, security, GOOD HEALTH! Maybe it’s something higher on the scale, family, friends, acceptance, education, fulfillment in work. Maybe it’s just making it through today and wanting to see another sunrise.

“Quality of life”
This to me is the freedom for me to get outdoors each day here on the Sunshine Coast and walk around Maroochydore for exercise and also to go to the card games which I have done for over many years of my Life of 81 years.

I am thankful to live on the sunny Sunshine Coast in Subtropical Australia

Hugs from Judyxx

I think I see I common theme in most of the answers. It is, having a higher purpose in life helps us rise above our selfish desires and makes us happy. By “higher purpose” it may be religious belief, family, health, service (helping others), and a desire to live.

I thought on ur question for a while, I want to give my heart answers. 1.I believe in Jesus, with all my heart. 2 my Mom, Son, daughter in law, grandbaby, an my other Son. 3.My Family Here.4. My heart has a lotta dings in it but its a strong Heart. This is how i fight every day, to try to do better than the day before. Some days i fail. Days are minute by minute, hour to hour, day to day, for me.

Quality of life for me is keeping my faith with God, live with laughter and joy which comes from me, my husband and children, my mother, my siblings which we're close, friends also my Pastor and my church sisters and brothers. I'm thankful and grateful for my life as I have to monitor my healthier diet, drink plenty of water throughout the day 3-4 bottles for me, exercise, exercise and exercise, also check my blood sugar numbers daily. I'm not on medication for my prediabetes. I make my happiness because life isn't promised tomorrow although I look forward to it. My testimony is thanking God for no hurt and and praying for healing and for others. He's been so good to us throughout my illnesses with hypertension and carpal tunnel. When prayers go up the blessings come down.

Quality of life for me is enjoying the simple things in life. Being able to converse with others, take care of those I love, spend time with family and friends. After watching my mother suffer with dementia and the ability to care for herself, communicate with others, in the end losing the ability to walk I don’t take for granted the simple everyday things in life.
