I got poly neuropathy on my side between my liver and lung. It took 12 mts to diagnose. Was very painfull spent 6mts in bed and was in hospital 5 times.
Why is my sugar high when I get up in the morning
It's called The Dawn Phenomena....you can go read about it on the internet. When you don't eat for a period of time your liver releases glucose in the blood stream
I'd like trends, advice, patterns, notes. Food and exercise logging not essential but would be nice.

I am a type 2 diabetic diagnosed in 2009. My last A1C was 7.1. Of Course, I would like to lower those numbers and I plan to start an excercise regimen in the next few days
However, I also have a bit of a sweet tooth and I have questions that may help me
1. Is it ok to "cheat" by occassionally eating deserts that are lower glycemic. With total carbs under 20 Grams?
2. Can someone recommend a recipe book or website I can use?
3. Am I alone with this? Do other diabetics indulge in these typesโฆ read more

Do people think there is a connection between stress and depression and diabetes? If so, to what extent do you feel the connections exist? My personal feeling is that the connections between these factors may be underestimated. I feel that 50%, and perhaps somewhat more, of the reason for my diabetes, comes from levels of stress and depression. Do others feel the same way? Thank you.
Absolutely. Iโve been very depressed since I was diagnosed 6 yrs ago because I feel as if my quality of life is less compare to โhealthyโ ppl. Anything can go wrong from within if you have diabetesโฆ read more

Alzheimerโs is mostly due to aging and changes in brain chemistry โ there is little we can do about getting old
Diabetics are at increased risk of developing Alzheimerโs (38% more likely then Joe/Jane average) however, it is Diabetes Dementia that is more likely to set in

In addition with good blood glucose readings I'd suggest taking ginkgo biloba which may help with circulation of blood to the brain but NOT as a substitute for good blood glucose control.
Hello, Everyone!
Is there anyone out here that take Gabapentin? If so, does it work for you and what dose are you taking. My doctor tried me on the 100mg 3x a day but it didnโt help me at all.
Thanks! ๐๐๐พ
Re:Gabapentin.. Usually the doses are much higher for those that find it effective. Up to 1800 mg daily in divided doses
I couldn't take any amount because it made me feel really terrible. I haveโฆ read more
I need advise and help. Was not given any indication by the doctor on how I should proceed and what I need to do now. Was told only to take meds twice a day. No eating plan, what I should avoid or any other information.
Totally stressed out. Have no idea where to now. My blood sugar level at the examination was 12.4 with traces of ketones and blood in urine test. Glucose was 3+ in the urine test
