What Should We Be Told When We Are Diagnosed With Type 2?

Some of my suggestions are:

Explain what diabetes is
Explain what an A1C test is looking at and what their number was
Tell them what their target A1C should be
Tell them "why" control is important - explain the main complication and impress upon the patient that "bad things WILL happen" so they need to take this seriously

Has Anyone Had Weight Loss Surgery To "cure" Diabetes?
A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have been told that after having this surgery I would no longer have to treat my diabetes. However I am wondering if I would be trading one set of problems for another. Since I have a weight problem being approved is not a problem, but I prefer to do things as naturally as possible. Some insight would be helpful and appreciated.
