I discussed that with my doctor and was given a prescription. Works miracles... Oxybutynin.
It's appropriate as many t2's use insulin.....easy to get too much in blood.
Some diabetes meds cause the pancreas to release more insulin- possible high insulin in blood
With my hypothyroidism and being type 2 is there still a possibility of reversing my diabetes, I've been a diabetic so long ang I know hypothyroidism and having diabetes is hereditary, but I would like to know if it's possible.
My grandmother, father, Sister & myself all have under active thyroid and take the generic for Synthroid medicine for it.

I work with a couple of other groups and one of them is trying to answer that question with an eye to developing a kinda "cheat sheet" to be used for someone newly diagnosed
Some of my suggestions are:
Explain what diabetes is
Explain what an A1C test is looking at and what their number was
Tell them what their target A1C should be
Tell them "why" control is important - explain the main complication and impress upon the patient that "bad things WILL happen" so they need to take this seriously

While both have ultimately the same effect/symptoms:
Memory Loss
Difficulty with problem-solving
Confusion/thinking problems; and,
Problems with language usage
The causes of each are quite different

In addition with good blood glucose readings I'd suggest taking ginkgo biloba which may help with circulation of blood to the brain but NOT as a substitute for good blood glucose control.

I have been told that after having this surgery I would no longer have to treat my diabetes. However I am wondering if I would be trading one set of problems for another. Since I have a weight problem being approved is not a problem, but I prefer to do things as naturally as possible. Some insight would be helpful and appreciated.
