I understand all white bread, white potato's, white rice, or white pasta are bad to eat when you have diabetes. Only sweet potatoes and black potatoes and or 100% whole grain bread or brown rice areโฆ read more
Iโm taking Metformin, Jardiance and Kanu ia and the glucose levels are still high. What can I do to lower the high sugar levels? I get very frustrated when I look at my readings. Iโve lost 42 pounds already and I am not a big eater.
Eating the right amount of fiber helps decrease your diabetes risk and protects against weight gain. Including fermentable fibers in your meals, such as cabbage and beans, is important, as yourโฆ read more
I keep trying quinoa as a substitute for brown rice since I have heard how healthy it is. Well, when I actually compared the nutrients yesterday I was puzzled to find the carb content is nearly the same as the brown rice 27g-32g. It does have a couple more grams of protein and fiber though-5g compared to 2 and3g. Did I mention that I actually prefer the brown rice? Because of the carbs I no longer view quinoa as a healthier choice than brown rice and am wondering why it has been touted as such aโฆ read more

I agree - those targets seem unrealistic. Iโm beginning to wonder if thereโs too much obsession about blood glucose levels meaning that weโre all different and some tolerate aโฆ read more
I had blood work done and my AC 1 came back low, 5.6, which surprised me. But the thing I am worried about is the cholesterol meds. I haven't started them cause my cholesterol isn't that high. Just a lil bit. Has anyone taken crestor or is on crestor and have had any major effects from it. I am only being put on 5 MG's. But kind of concerned cause I am on four different meds right now. Two for my diabetes and two for my asthma.

I am a type 2 diabetic diagnosed in 2009. My last A1C was 7.1. Of Course, I would like to lower those numbers and I plan to start an excercise regimen in the next few days
However, I also have a bit of a sweet tooth and I have questions that may help me
1. Is it ok to "cheat" by occassionally eating deserts that are lower glycemic. With total carbs under 20 Grams?
2. Can someone recommend a recipe book or website I can use?
3. Am I alone with this? Do other diabetics indulge in these typesโฆ read more
