Two "non-chemical" alternatives come immediately to mind
Erythritol (sold under the brand name Swerve) is a 1 for 1 sugar substitute that is difficult to tell from real sugar - it's a zero net carb polyol (easiest to think of as a "sweet fiber" that comes from veggies) with a glycemic index of "zero" and naturally sourced
Second is Monk Fruit (or 50% Monk Fruit/50% Erythritol) sold under the brand name Lakanto - Monk Fruit by itself is also zero carb, totally natural (it is a fruit) but has a slightly less sweet taste compared to table sugar so more suitable for baking then as a replacement for real sugar in coffee/tea
(and you may be able to find both if you have access to a bulk food place - usually cheaper than the name brand/packaged stuff)
Since these are not "artificial" neither leaves an aftertaste
I get the Swerve at a local grocery store but both are available on Amazon
There is also brown sugar and icing sugar options from both companies
I switched to black yrs ago. It tkjes a bit to get used to but once you do you’ll never go back

Stivia is my go to sweetener. But I do not use it often and if I make hot chocolate sometimes I cheat by adding a few grains of cane sugar. It just tastes better . Be carefull use stevia sparingly as it is sweeter than regular cane sugar.
I'm using sucralose. Actual sucralose, not Splenda. You can get it (and monk fruit) from Bulksupplements.com
I use raw sugar when I need to use sugar
I have found a low sugar hot chocolate but have not tried it yet. Hoping I will like it
