Hi @A DiabetesTeam Member,
What medications are you taking and on what schedule.
Have there been any recent changes. How long have the symptoms persisted.

What are your meals over a 2 week period.

Is there too much fat. My stomach can only tolerate a little fat.

How about dairy, dairy is one of the most common allergens.

How about wheat, another common allergen.

Have you taken antibiotics, they will mess up your gut biome. When that happens, we must assist and replenish the good bacteria. Prebiotics and probiotics. I do 3 ounces of whole fat unflavored unsweetened greek yogurt one day, and 2 ounces of kefir the next. I also regularly eat pickles, sauerkraut, and fermented foods.

How is the quality and length of your sleep. When I get tired, I get nauseous and just plain sick to my stomach. Also when I run out of fuel. So my actions are to eat if I run out of fuel. Always get at least 6-7 hours good sleep nightly. 8 is better.

Stress can be a killer, and can be another source of stomach upset.

Since I am still doing no diabetes medications yet and at this time, I know it's not diabetes medications when I have nausea.

But for me it can be a known reaction to my current 9th cancer treatment in the past 5.5 years. But that does not apply to everyone.

Baby steps. Find the reasons for your stomach upset. Do what you need to do.

Weekends are made for family. We have our 6 youngest grands of 11 for the weekend. Age (Phone number can only be seen by the question and answer creators). We went to the 1400 hours matinee of the live play, from Lin-Manuel, In the Heights. We met with 2 of my Bride's sisters and we had linner and a show.

Our youngest baby girl took care of the kids while we were out. She fed them the lunch I prepared before we left at 1230 hours. I made what my Mom called Japanese spicy chicken for dinner, when I returned home. I also cut a half watermelon to lead up to lunch and, the other half to lead up to dinner.

Good luck.

There is a number of over the counter treatment options but it's best to try and find the cause

Tums/Rolaids work if it isn't too bad or too chronic - Zantac (or the various clones of it - pharmacist can point them out) will deal with the more pesky indigestion and then of course there are prescription options

But unless you have an actual GI disorder (need a GI Doc to figure that out) then it's most likely something that you routinely eat that could be causing it so that takes a bit of trial and error

Generally too much saturated fat (really hard to digest) can cause the issue but you could also be lactose intolerant (dairy products) or a half dozen other (foods/groups) that you are having trouble digesting

I know for myself that I can't eat anything in the Cabbage family (including broccoli, Brussel sprouts or cauliflower) once it is cooked because my system lacks some enzyme that will allow it to be digested - feels like someone is inside my guts with a knife just stabbing everywhere

Or it may simply be a bit of "gut" deficiency which may be corrected with a daily probiotic supplement

And then finally, stress is well known to cause digestive disorders particularly Acid Reflux

So maybe start with seeing if it "flares up worse" after eating certain foods and cut them out. Try lactose free dairy products if you consume a lot of dairy, try a daily probiotic or Talk to your Doc
