Should You Worry About LOW Blood Sugar At Night?
A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭

The answer to that question is "IT DEPENDS"

Whether or not you have Diabetes your blood sugar fluctuates. For us members of the Dead Pancreas Society we are more cognizant of changes and constantly on the lookout for mostly HIGHS but sometimes LOWS

If you are NOT taking Diabetes Meds (like myself) it is beyond unlikely that your body will allow things to get "deadly low" (if our blood sugar drops below 2.0 mmols or 35'ish points we can go into a coma due to lack of (fuel) sugar available to… read more

How Do You Stay On Track While Traveling?
A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭

We are leaving very early Saturday morning with my parents to go to Indiana to visit my brother, sister-in-law and nieces for Easter. I know we will be eating out and maybe at the hotel or at fast food places. We're planning to stay a week as my mom has a break from work as she works at an elementary school and it just happened to coincide with my nieces' spring break.

I Am 49 Yrs Old. I Have Been A T1 Since The Age Of 12. Over The Past Couple Of Years I Experience Weird Hypo’s.
A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭

It only happens once in a while and not every time I experience a hypo. It starts off with weird thoughts, almost depressing type thoughts. I then starts acting weird as if I am completely drunk. It’s quite embarrassing to say the least. Other times I experience “normal” hypo’s without this weird acting. Anyone experience the same?

Hot Flashes - Could Be Blood Sugar Related?
A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi all, I’m 68, had hysterectomy 20 years ago. Suddenly, I’ve been getting hot flashes, 3 this week alone, about 2 to 2 1/2 hrs after eating - twice it was after lunch; once after breakfast.

I will talk to my doctor, but wonder if anyone has experienced this? From consulting Dr. Google, it seems there are many possible causes. I’m also concerned that it may be blood-sugar related. I am on many meds - for depression, asthma, cholesterol, high blood pressure, and have taken thyroid for several… read more
