For me that’s before breakfast and most times has nothing to do with my bgs. I can have reasonable/good bgs and still feel c*** first thing in the morning.
@A DiabetesTeam Member I couldn’t drink lots of water before bed otherwise I’d be weeing like a mouse all night! 😀
I have never been in what could be described as a good mood or even functional when I first wake up and that goes back decades before Diabetes
Until I get at least a mouthful of coffee in me I don't want to talk to, see anyone - it's like "get out of my way and leave me alone" 😁
Yes, many people with diabetes experience feeling rough first thing in the morning. This can be due to various factors such as:
- High Blood Sugar Levels: Known as the dawn phenomenon, where blood sugar levels rise in the early morning
- Sleep Apnea: Causes fatigue and headaches in the morning.
- Low Blood Sugar Levels: Show Full Answer
I guess it depends on how much sleep I've gotten the night before , if I wake up too early than I'm about as friendly as a black bear otherwise I'm like a sloth 🦥
Coffee or Tea are a must just to get my day going in the right direction.
Drink lots of water before bed and when I wake up just to stay hydrated 😌
