Milk is neither good nor bad "specifically" for diabetes - it has no properties one way or the other that manage/improve diabetes and save the fact that Lactose is a complex sugar - so drink enough and it will effect your blood sugar (same amount of sugar whether it's skim or 35% cream) you should drink it for the vitamins/minerals for overall good health.

(this below is paraphrased from the data on the matter - not me) 😁

Milk Cows come from two different genetic lineages.

One produces "two" proteins in their milk arbitrarily designated A1 and A2 with the A2 being predominant (80% of the proteins)

The second group of cows (plus humans, sheep, goats and a few other mammals) produce milk that is "predominately" A2 proteins. So the A2 branded milk has come from cows that were genetically tested to show that they belong to the lineage that contains more A2 protein in their milk.

The only link at all to either type has to Diabetes is:

Infants given Cows milk with higher A1 proteins are more prone to developing Type 1 (auto-immune) Diabetes then breast-fed children.

Milk consumption (of either type of milk) is shown to "reduce" the risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes.

Why YOU may feel better is because they also found people with "mild lactose intolerance" digest predominantly A2 (type) milk better than the more common A1 type - so YOU may feel better because it's easier to digest.

(lactose intolerance causes stomach upset because the affected lack an enzyme that splits the Lactose into it's simple sugars - lactose free milk still has the lactose in it but they add the missing enzyme to break it down so your stomach doesn't have to - just a bit of trivia there)

In case the question comes up on Jeopardy - China mandated that all infant formula (commercially available) must be formulated with an A2 milk source. In the City closest to me the Chinese did recently open a baby formula plant and they produce the formula "exclusively" with Goat Milk, which is an A2 milk source. I remember when they ramped up and cut production deal quota's with goat farmers in my County which saw our Goat population explode 😄
