I guess meaning to have a coffee or tea(of course plain) and just talk IRL about this, to get more educated
@A DiabetesTeam Member there certainly is no rule in the group regulations etc that would forbid or prevent that and not sure they could actually enforce it anyhow - this is a world wide group.
Just on a personal level I would exercise the same care and judgement that you would use on any other (social media) group before I met up with someone that I had been chatting with.
Certainly meeting up with other Diabetics in person can have great value. I work with a group that provides education, guidance and mentoring to Type 2 Diabetics and we usually like to meet up in groups of 5 or 6 which can really give you some good perspective. Because what works for one may or may not work for someone else but everyone can exchange ideas.
Good idea would be
1. for 2 discussions and a question and answer session at each meeting. eating like Graham and other successful persons have done.
2. For those on insulin, a discussion surrounding the needs or concerns of persons just starting up on insulin or who are already on insulin and could be having a bit of challenges with their insulin therapy. Insulin can be life saving therapy but it's not as simple as we might think.
Lots of gems to share.
But; the question is how do we link up with persons to attend such meetings?
I plan on speaking to my Pharmacist to help us in planning such a meeting.
I'm thinking of early April.
But who pays for what is the issue.
Involves a lot of planning. And executing.
Would hate to have a date set with no one showing up for the meeting... 😙
Planning to do just this sort of meetup in the near future. 😄
Thank you
