@A DiabetesTeam Member I hope that I don't have sleep Apnea as I wake up suddenly some nights with a loud snore!
I am feeling well today after a lovely night's sleep. I take Magnesium supplement daily and it helps to prevent the leg cramps at nighttime.

Thanks Judy - I’m doing well today, thanks for asking. I have sleep apnea also, as someone else mentioned, and I know my mouth falls open sometimes. My partner has suggested the chin strap, but I am resistant. May try that spray. Hugs to you!🥰

I have sleep apnea and use a cpap breathing machine. I still found myself breathing through my mouth at times resulting in dry mouth. I have been using a "chin strap" to keep my mouth closed. It works 85% of the time. I got the chin strap from the medical supply company where I get my cpap supplies. Before I got the chin strap, I used an over the counter spray medication made for dry mouth. It didn't prevent it, but it seemed to work faster/better that just plain water. And easier too. (Not being quite awake, I'd frequently spill water.) It's available over the counter at any drug store. I never knew dry mouth could be caused by my diabetes. Good to know. If I work on better evening eating habits, maybe I can get rid of chin strap.

As Murray said, medication can exacerbate the problem. I chew sugar-free gum during the day, drink lots of water, and also use dry mouth lozenges. At night I sip water when I wake up. It’s annoying!
