How do you learn to live with such an uncontrollable disease? It is so unpredictable and that is why I fell on the street on June 24th and broke my arm!
I do not have Meniere's disease, but I have known a few people who do have it. It is not easy, no sharp movement of the head, no bending down quickly. I do have episodes similar from my Fibromyalgia at times, where the dizziness gets real bad, I have to be careful when turning my head or bending down to pick up stuff, we do stuff so automatically we forget to take things slowly. My Fibro gives me ringing in the ears 24 / 7 / 365, it gets dizzying at times, I also lose my balance when tired in late evening. I used to get throat and sinus infections 2 to 4 times a year which cause the innner ear imbalance at times/ But i have heard that meniere is not pleasant either. When standing up don't look down and look starught ahead is what we were taught to tell patients (I am now a retired nurse). At times when the ringing in my ears get real bad I can barely hear people speaking to me, I have to ask them to repeat what they say a lot, patients with Meniere's told me the same thing. The extreme dizziness was the worse thing for them and for some it was nausea also. I know certain movements can trigger it hence getting up slowly, no sudden moves which create a desiquilibrium. There is no cure for Meniere's but there are treatment and doing things slowly can help also. You will need to try and find what triggers your episodes and see if something can be done about the triggers. Prayers up, hope you can find something to help you.
