In May of this year the FDA approved another new drug for the treatment of Type 2.
The drugs name is Mounjaro (tirzepatide) and it's the latest to join the club of the weekly/monthly injectables that first hit the market about a decade back with Ozempic being the most popular in the particular class of drugs.
Of course, with each new drug in a given class there is usually some improvement over what the last drug did or it would hardly be worth marketing - why would anyone switch if it didn't… read more
I am on ozempic and it has worked well for me . But another layer of appetite control would help. I did lose 20 lbs the first 6 months on it. And I had just lost 40 lbs and had hit a plateau.
I do use some natural remedies as well. Here are some interesting ones if anyone is interested: https://allremedies.com/home-remedies-for-diabe...
I hit a plateau as well. In total since I started on Ozempic I believe I lost a significant amount of weight. I feel better can walk farther, stand longer and that little bit of weight loss has helped me improve my quality of life. I could stand to lose a bit more and this new injectable may just be the way to do that plus so many other benefits
@A DiabetesTeam Member they most certainly are getting on the phone but nobody is answering.
Can someone tell my two hormones to kick start my pancreas again now that would be a miracle....those good ol days when it use to work normally....🤔🙄
Newer drugs for diabetes I'm always happy to see EMERGING. As long as good tolerability is there. Very exciting. I'm curious to see the side effect profile for me as I do not seem to tolerate all the newer drugs such as Glp1 working in the intestines. The latter drug working higher up the G I tract sounds interesting. What's the duration of dosing I wonder. My slight problem with a drug that can be dosed weekly, is that if there are side effects , these side effects are on board for a week. If no significant side effects,, then this is great and right away enhances adherence in dosing and overall better control all round. Will discuss with my Endo. Good tolerability is always so important for our group.
