Mechanism, Impact And Control Of Anti-GAD Antibodies In Relation To Function Of Pancreas, Post C-19 Infection
A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

Does someone on this platform have experience with diabetes due to high Anti GAD Antibodies
Research and medical professionals indicate that high levels of Anti-GAD Antibodies cause damage to beta-cells which produce Insulin in Pancreas...so this condition is a ticking bomb, bound to destroy all beta-cells and render the affected person from T2 in to T1 diabetic
How does one influence and control excessively high levels of Anti-GAD Antibodies?
Was anyone successful in treating/reversing this… read more

Off course I did..and Dr. had to say pretty much same as info available online -> NO KNOWN method of influencing and controlling excessively high levels of Anti-GAD Antibodies.
There might be some trials for a drug that might be able to inhibit the Anti GADS from causing the damage to beta-cells, but trial application (for a drug completely unrelated to Diabetes) was just submitted...and potential conclusions after human trials (if approved) are years-away.
If conclusive an positive, drug development (for specific use for Diabetes / Anti GADS / Pancreas function) and drug trials would ensue...whole process is many, many years away...and is all subject to a battery of success/conclusive trial outcomes.
However - still -> NO known method of controlling the levels of Anti GADS.
My question was a looong shot...in the dark...
