Have Antibiotics Raised Your Blood Sugar?
A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am taking Augmentin for a UTI infection. I’m taking 2 500 mg daily and I am. On my 4th day of a 5 day regimen. My blood sugar is usually around 120-130 but it has been high in the 160 to 200 late. Have felt sort of rugged. Can the Augmentin cause my blood sugar level to go high?

I get celullites in my legs alot and have to be on high doses of i.v antbiotics it doesn't raise my levels it lowers them and I scare the dr's and nurses at times. So they have orange juice and that big emergency sugar kit handy in my always. I've dropped to almost to 39. Scary thing to happen and not remembering everything that happened.
