I factor it into my carbs, have it with protein and fiber, drink more water and take a walk.
I was a big cake and pie lover. I tried a small piece of angle food cake and add strawberries and lite coolwhip.it didnot make my sugar go up at all. the sugar free pudding are really good. it has the different flavor's.which I like.
I have one-half cup sugar free chocolate pudding with almond milk for dessert. It does not spike me and helps with my chocolate cravings.
I learned with my nutritionist that if you are going to eat carbs, make sure you eat a protein WITH it!!! I am not into meat, some chicken, but I am now eating lots of NUTS!!! It has made huge difference in my A1C! And taking a daily 10-20 minute walk!! I know myself and denial makes me crave even more. I allow some sugar, but most of the time I have cut portion size way back! Stress is a huge trigger though!
Have your ice cream in a cup instead of a cone. cut those calories. And have the best ice cream you can afford. It is a treat after all.
