Can Someone Tell Me What Is Happening To My Body?
A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have tingling and some numbness is two of my toes on my right foot as well as a weird feeling in my lower right leg, like twitches. My doctor said I may have a bulging disc in my back. I was only diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes on Dec. 11, and now everything scares the poop out me! Just want to be knowledgeable about what is happening. I was also wondering if anyone has any discoloration in their stools when on Metformin. I am on ulcer medication but it seems to be doing nothing. I am dieting… read more

I am a diabetic and l can't stress enough how important it is to keep your blood sugars low. If you get the b.s to high you start to experience other health issues.

Please treat your cholestrol if that is high - Use Plant Sterols 800mg up to 3 tabs daily.
Take Hawthorne for Blood pressure and cholestrol.

Alpha Lipoic Acid, another excellent antioxidant, is an effective supplement for treating neuropathy. CoQ10 in combination with ALA improves nerve function and neuropathy symptoms by improving antioxidant defenses.

Ensure you B12 is not low.
Your problems are associated with Metformin - Take Glyco-X 500 instead. Much better and safer than Metformin.

Please verify with your doctor if in doubt.

Don't let everything scare you. It sounds like you are experiencing neuropathy in your toes. There may even be some neuropathy in your leg too. Do you have back problems? Hang in there. Fortunately, some of the problems that arise from diabetes usually comes slowly. You don't need to panic. Just try and keep your blood sugar below 180. Above 180 and that's when damage can start. You just got diagnosed. It's a new thing to you but I have lived with diabetes (type 2) for 36 years. I was diagnosed at the age of 19 so it is kind of iffy whether or not I have type 1 or type 2 but whatever....I have diabetes.
You have other quesitons there that your Dr. needs to answer about the Metformin and etc.
Glad you are on this site. Then you can learn about how to live with this blessed disease. LOL. Welcome.
