Members acknowledged the frustration of watching blood sugar spike after eating favorite foods like pizza, explaining that simple carbohydrates in white bread, pasta, rice, and sugar break down quickly and cause rapid rises, while fat can slow absorption but still contributes to higher numbers. Several members offered practical alternatives and strategies, including trying fathead pizza made with almond flour, pairing carbs with protein to slow digestion, reducing processed foods and starches, using acid-relief remedies like lemon water or sugar-free Tums, and consulting resources like the Calorie King book or the American Diabetes Association website. A recurring theme was the difficulty of balancing taste preferences with blood sugar control and the common advice to moderate or avoid the three P's, pizza, pasta, and pie, while focusing on proteins, vegetables, and low-carb substitutes.

Eating foods too high is carbs will do that. I haven't had real pizza in so long, can't remember. If you go low carb with your eating, you will no longer have the acid problem and spice you food as you like.

It depends on what you eat. If you eat something with a lot of sugar, fat, high carbohydrate your blood sugar will go up. I was told that there are 3 "P's" to modify when eating. Pizza, Pasta, & Pie. They raise blood sugars. You have to get yourself a good calorie, carbohydrate & fat book (CALORIE KING) that will help you know more of what is in foods you eat. Also, if you go to the American Diabetes Association website (diabetes.org) you can learn a lot about food values and etc.

@A DiabetesTeam Member. Blood sugar rises because of the components tge food is made up of. Somethings like whitebread, salt&fats found in some pizzas are likely to spike up blood sugar. So you need to watch out and be careful
