If you don't already keep a diary of everything you eat. If it is not an illness or meds for another problem it may be what you are eating. Keep track of your sugars and carb per meal in the diary also. You may be able to identify what is raising your sugars. Carbs raise sugars not just sugar. You can also talk to your doctor about it. He may need to adjust your meds.

Hi @A DiabetesTeam Member :)
If you are under a lot of stress or in pain your Blood Glucose levels can rise quite a bit.
Hope this helps and best of health to you.

Are you sure it's A1C? A1C levels seldom change fast enough that it's worthwhile to measure them more than once every three months.

Blood glucose levels can change that fast. The blood glucose measurement system for the US give values about 18 times as much as the system for most of the rest of the world.

Does those values rise that much after a meal high in starchy foods, such as bread, other wheat products, potatoes, rice, and corn (known as maize in some countries)? Starches digest into the same simple sugars that table sugar does, and for most types of starch, about as fast. The starches in cooked dried beans, sweet potatoes, and pizza are among the types that digest more slowly.
