Members candidly shared their struggles with sweet cravings while managing diabetes, acknowledging that willpower varies and temptation is everywhere, from candy aisles to family members who keep treats at home. Several members described practical strategies that work for them, including substituting sweets with unsalted nuts, Greek yogurt, or small fruits, drinking lots of water to stay fuller longer, avoiding purchasing snacks altogether, and testing blood sugar before and after eating to understand how different foods affect their levels personally. A recurring theme was the importance of self-compassion and persistence, with members encouraging each other to keep working at healthier choices one day at a time, even when evening cravings hit hard or when simply looking at desserts feels like a setback.

I make healthy choices instead of candy, I eat unsalted nuts or a small orange or small apple. Some of you can't eat fruit. I eat low fat Greek yogurt. But drinking lots of water keeps me full longer. So I eat less and lose weight. Blessings to you all. 😊

I try not to have them around too, but my husband has a sweet tooth and sometimes I just can't help myself. I will be working on that. Just have to put my mind to it and stick with it. Thanks for your reply
