Yes. No cure, just control. Control is very important to prevent complications. Neuropathy, diabetic retinopathy, and many more
That is not reversing diabetes it is having your diabetes iunder control. Once you are diabetic you are always diabetic. You will always have to be diligent in your diet and exercise. By being careful you may get to a point where you no longer need meds, but once you are not careful you go back to being out of control and on meds
Cure or reversal would mean you could eat as you please, as you ate before diabetes. you will never have that freedom again. With good control and lifestyle changes, you can achieve remission and maybe come off the diabetes med. The days of cokes and chips are pretty much over.
Can't stand sugar substitutes. I may break down and some point and consume them, but so far so good with a bit of chocolate ice cream once about once a week, but I'm not sure how I'm controlling things yet. Just got a glucometer. I have been using My Fitness Pal and it's been great in terms of tracking carbs, calories fat etc. Down 10 pounds already. We'll see. My A1C was 6.9 when I got my diagnosis. Amazing how much bad stuff I was eating.
