A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭

I having been feeling good with the flu and I can’t seem to get back on track with my eating right and exercise the way I did before I got the flu. My numbers are up and down more up then down it’s frustrating and I don’t know how to get it back the way I was before

How did you get rid of your insulin? Good readings for an extended time? I'm on Prednisone but am weaning off of it. Hoping my yo-yo readings moderate.

Mine used to be very yo-yo until I got my diet right and got rid of insulin and all the other diabetes meds. Now I'm on an even keel.

I know how you ffeel Gaye HillierEvans I have had a cold for the last week and it has wrecked havoc on my sugar, I'm just taking it one day at a time trying to eat right my exercise is packing up since we r moving and that is even slow, but start off slow with something that you have always done in the past, just one and gradually add another till your back on track.. hope this help you.. Bright Blessings

I follow the ketogenic way of eating. My BG dropped like a rock and within 3 weeks had myself weaned off the insulin completely. Then one by one I was able to get off the 3 meds I was on while still maintaining good BG. My A1c when I started was 12.3 (early April) the next one was 7.7 and I have another one coming up in a week or 2 (my doctor mails me the requisition for the lab). I expect this one to be 6 or less since most of my readings are between 4.5 and 6, with a few lows of 2.1-3.5.
