It looks like 90% of diabetic patients have fatty liver. My dictor told me about it a few yrs back but did not recommend doing anything about it.
Metformin made me so sick , I was tired couldn’t function.i could only handle it for two months and I switched Glipizide. So far so good .
I was on metformin for years, my liver enzymes have ALWAYS been elevated. I was diagnosed not only with type II diabetes. But also with hemochromatosis. Which is a high iron elevation in your system. It causes diabetes, arthritis, cirrhosis, etc. so because of the high iron in my blood I now have a fatty liver (start of cirrhosis ). My Gastro put me on 500 mg metformin to help control my enzymes. I stopped taking it because my stomach hurt every single day. So just please keep an eye on your blood work......so important!
Yes i have the same problem but my doctor keep giving me the metformin and also glimepiride.I just take out two others medications ,and slowly my enzymes are getting better.
