Currently it is simply having an A1C, above 6.5% (47.5 mmol's in the IFCC scale) "twice in a row" measured 90 days apart

There seems to be a great misconception out there that the "treatment used" is how the Type of Diabetes is determined
Insulin is a treatment for Diabetics, ALL Diabetics IF they NEED it
Type 1 Diabetics have an auto-immune disease that "within days" destroys their own ability to produce insulin - without insulin they will die within a week or two
They (Type 1's) need insulin from minute one of diagnosis and currently there is not other treatment to help keep them alive

My diabetes is genetic is started out as pre diabetic now it is type 2 it runs in both sides of my family I was told yesterday that is it genetic tell me I’m not alone.

With my hypothyroidism and being type 2 is there still a possibility of reversing my diabetes, I've been a diabetic so long ang I know hypothyroidism and having diabetes is hereditary, but I would like to know if it's possible.
My grandmother, father, Sister & myself all have under active thyroid and take the generic for Synthroid medicine for it.
I have some anemia and have prescribed medication by the good nurse practitioner too. I don't have cancer too.

Some groups state that they are for type 2 diabetics but my worry is that I don't know what the type I have and how one can distinguish between the 2 types?
I find journalling helps me as l stress alot and anxiety so writing everything down helps plus l also color alot too
I knw some of the people living with diabetes don't know which type do they fall under, so they need to be taught Abt both types and their differences.
More people have type to .so far more of those participating here are type2. Maybe one of the embassators could help you find a team with more Type1 participants
