I've lost a daughter and my husband to soon in this life and I'm not ready to join them yet. My grandchlidren are almost grown and I want to see them start their families. I want to hold my great grandchildren. I want to not have any more complications from diabetes than I already do. I want to keep all my limbs and my eyesight. And I want to be WELL as I"m doing it. It took me 2 years after dx to get really healthy and I plan to stay there.

Through prayers and knowing my happiness I'm motivated enjoy my life with my children and new husband. It wasn't always easy but we learn from each other and claim our happiness not pain, anxiety or stress. I focus on feeling marvelous, terrific, wonderful, thankful, fantastic, having fun with myself first!! And all the rest falls into place but walking is my greatest joy being out in nature alone sometimes with my gospel music. What makes me happy? Going out dancing with my husband, date nights and sometimes I need Me Time which consists of doing something alone but I communicate with my husband and children who are 15 and 18 years old. My daughter and I have outings too like going to the movies or dining out or a walk and talk to the park. My favorite is my husband and I monthly getaway on the weekend which we go out of town, stay over night in a hotel, explore the area in the day and go dancing at night. Claim your happiness because you only have one life to live. God bless you all!!! 😁

Get a routine....hard I know...my house is a wreck. Try biking. That's what I have done. It great for meditation and some good music. Jeep God in your daily routine. Heroes work and exist. Be good to yourself and remember you are doing this for YOU.

Hi Marybeth,
Upon waking up I pray and thank God for another day. I drink water and take my medicine. I check my numbers and go out for a walk. I usually walk 30 minutes to an hour but due to the heat I walk a little less but I walk three times a day after meals. I eat fish, tuna, salmon, fresh veggies especially a salad with spinach, cherry tomatoes, shredded carrots, sliced almonds and light Italian dressing. Eat fresh fruit with all meals and drink lots of water throughout the day. I don't drink sodas or coffee but I drink chamomile decaffeinated teas. If I need a snack I love peanut butter with sliced apples or celery or unsalted nuts in moderation. I do it for me because I love me!!! 😁
Stay encouraged to do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Amen.

I pray and thank God for his unconditional love for me, for my husband and children. They're worst things going besides my illness. I'm living for me today and looking forward to tomorrow with happiness so I do the things that make me happy often. I take my medicine, drink lots of water, eat healthy meals, tuna, salmon, shrimps, salads, fresh veggies, fresh fruits but we must stay active walking 45minutes to an hour after each meal if just throw the ball with the children or friends. They're so many ways to be active and have fun too. Be creative!! 😁 l like walking in the Anacostia park. It has a river and boats. It's calming for me. I like yoga too. If it's too hot outside. I walk up and down five flights of stairs in my building 2-3 three times rest five minutes and start again. I like throwing the Frisbee with my husband, playing basketball with my students or soccer just for fun. Bring your bottles of water. Have a fun filled weekend!!! 😁God bless you all.
