I got diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in may this year. I am on medication and not receiving much help from my gp. I have burning sensation in lower legs and i just want to scratch away. Is this usual. Thanks wendy
You are low in magnesium and nearly all diabetics are. One of the signs is burning and pain in the legs and feet. Those are the symptoms I had that alerted me to the fact I was T2D. I take 700 mg of magnesium kelate daily. Since diabetes meds wash out magnesium it is hard to get enough with just diet. You'd have to eat a lot of dark greens and almonds to hit that.
Ask your doctor I have neraupathy and it's painful and there's a lot of burning and tingles I have it on my legs feet and hands it can be dry skin also buy you some lotion for diabetics you can get it at walmart it helps with dry skin I use it...it's expensive..
Metformin also depletes u of B-12 I take 1000 mcg. per day
Might be diabetic nuropathy
I agree with SMGodwin....get another GP. You pay them to take care of you and help you. If they won't...find someone who will. There may be someone in the same office you could see. Don't worry, that Dr. that you had been seeing won't know if you are seeing someone else. They are too busy and don't realize unless you told them.
