My best advice to anyone dealing with diabetes, metabolic syndrome, on insulin resistance is listen to your body. I had suspected that I was diabetic for at least 2 years prior to finally being screened and learning for sure 16 months ago. I had began to have severe pains in my feet that kept me awake at night and problems with my eye sight. I've learned through my own research that diabetics are low in magnesium, an essential mineral for nearly all bodily systems. Diabetes meds wash out magnesium and it is difficult to get enough by diet alone, so I take 700 mg of magnesium kelate daily. Also, Rather than take a diabetes meds to artificially control my BG so I could eat whatever I craved, I opted to go the LCHF lifestyle route. My BG has gone from 350 plus to normal (under 100 for me). My foot pains have disappeared and my vision has returned to normal. Of course if a diabetic is taking meds, they need to adopt a new way of eating under a doctors supervision because of the danger of ketoacidosis.

my feet don't hurt they just feel odd...went to podiatrist who took xray and told me i had neuropathy...possible small vessel disease or PAD....how does an xray tell anybody about vessels and arteries...feet are dry and scaly and not too pretty lol...but they heal fast if i get a cut or scratch...i'm diagnosed with pre-diabetes and am working on controlling that with diet and exercise and weight loss...but this doc scared the hell outta me...i'm getting a second opinion...
