I try and manage on a total of 45 carbs per day. If there's a special occasion it will jump but generally on a normal working day I limit myself to 45 per day

I have a much more generous allowance. The RD I then had suggested 3- 45 carb meals and 3- 15 carb snacks but while my blood sugar is not too bad I need to do something to help me loose weight. (Exercising can be problematic for me as I have had 4 surgeries on my left leg/ankle and walking is still painful.

basically this is how I roll. Breakfast : 2 slices of bacon, 1 egg, grilled tomato (Total 6 carbs) Mid morning a snack of pork rinds or some nuts (Total 5 carbs) Lunch time: Grilled chicken, tuna or turkey salad (Total 6 carbs), mid afternoon snack: 2 tablespoons of sugar free peanut butter or a handful of olives or a slab of cheese or a block of 85% Lindt Cocoa chocolate (the carbs here will differ but will not exceed 6), Dinner, chicken, pork, beef, fish or seafood (a good portion) and veggies or a salad (say 8 carbs). That's more than enough good healthy food for me to survive on at 45 grams of carbs per day, sometimes less. This also leaves room for those hidden carbs eg. sugar free gum (1 carb each), sweetners in my tea (1 carb each) etc etc

I dont follow a specific deal for each meal i might have as frw as 10 grsms of carbs for a meal or as many as 120 (birthday meal or anniversary meal) but total in a day is between 150 n 300 grams ... depending on how active i am that given day.
All from non professed food sources ofwhich 80% is vegetable based 10% fruit based n the rest lentil/bean/rice based.
A1c for the past 6 years has been between 4.8 and 5.2 current a1c is at 5.

My nutritionist said 15g/snack and 45g/meal. I can have a little more if I exercise during the day.
