Humalog Mix 75/25
A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

I am on Humalog 25 Mix and reading that it may cause heart failure ? Is this true ? What are the symptoms to look for ? Cause whenever an ECG is done so far I've been told it is 'clear'. Like, is there a heart attack waiting to happen ? On ECG what is the cause of an alarm ? Is it the excess plaque ? I'm told by my doc that certain amount of plaque should be there. Is there a boundary measure for plaque that should be there ? So confused of different statements being told to me each time that… read more

Express these concerns to your doctor. He should willingly take the time to explain all of this to you and put your concerns at ease.

Came to know of a blood clot leading to a heart attack on this site. Was particularly concerned about the symptoms witnessed prior to what was coming. I mean not as the heart attack came on but in the course of the prior days. Did not a cardiogram show any indication ? Deep down I feel something is not right with me but it's the same prognosis with the family doctor and heart doctor saying everything is alright. Do those med people wait for a heart attack to happen ? I mean there must be some indication of plaque in the arteries which I was told there has to be. Are they talking about a certain level that is measured when seeing the stress test recordings on treadmill ? Many of my enquiries go unanswered or is lost on this site. Don't know why but all teams pls give your views, knowledge and experiences which would help all of us.

@A DiabetesTeam Member I have raised my concerns which has resulted in more drug prescriptions. Sadly the doctors and Pharma companies are not concerned about side effects at all. It is a slap in the face for us all. We have no choice but to take their meds in trial and error for a cure only to bring on another problem. They save their butts in advertisements with all the warnings "can cause death" etc. and with scary statements which makes one wonder 😳 how on earth can you market a drug which leads to death or paralysis, kidney problems, etc and only makes you worse. We hear it in ads all the time and no one questions it at all. Why ?? And you think any doctor would actually listen to this concern ? None of them will, I can assure you of that and they will just brush it off. Money the root of all evil !

I agree with you, @A DiabetesTeam Member. Odelia's questions should be handled directly with her doctor. I would suggest copying these concerns & getting answers from the doctor who initiated the discussion.

@A DiabetesTeam Member I need to hear opinions on these questions after asking your doctors. I have already rattled out all these concerns over my visits. Let us discuss it here.
