I add cinnamon in my cooking, but I haven't noticed a change. You might do some research on cinnamon though as it can be quite hard on your liver.
Thanks, everyone. I've been taking a cinnamon supplement and my bs has gone down. It's hard to say from what however. I also did some research on the dawn effect and it would seem I have that. I would go to bed with bs of 140 ish and test at 3am and have a reading of 180ish, so I followed some of the suggestions I read about, eating earlier, drinking more water, and my fasting bs in the morning has gone down from 120-130 to 100. I actually had a reading below 100 for the first time these past couple of days. This disease is so tricky. It's hard to tell what works and then it seems like for no reason at all what was working stops. I'm on board with the low carb idea 90% of the time as I'm certain carbs effect me a lot.
I tried cinnamon but it didn't help at all. Taste good though..
I have been using non irradiated cinnamon for approx two years and it did seem to help. I am now waiting for the results of my recent blood sugar tests before I comment further.
I read about several people on a newsgroup trying cinnamon. About half wrote that it made no measurable difference, All but one of the rest wrote that it helped, but not much. The last one wrote that it made her blood glucose worse instead.
