Stress Fractures - Are These Common?
A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

I was dx with a stress fracture several months ago on my outer left foot. It finally was getting better, just weak, and not about 2 weeks ago, I am back to where I initially started prior to the dx. I have tried to get in to see my GP, but was told that she was booked into March and since I have an appointment then, I will just have to wait! Healthcare in Canada at it's finest, not

I broke my second metatarsal (mildly displaced) in my right foot on Jan. 19th. I believe it was when I was doing aerobics. I thought it was tendinitis and walked on it for a week before getting it x-rayed. My Dr. wants to wait to see if it will heal on its own instead of surgery to avoid any complications such as infection. I'm just praying it heals completely with no surgery. I go back to Orthopedics at the end of February.
I'm taking Vitamin C & D, a Multi- Vitamin, flax, borage & fish oil, and Collagen Peptide to try to build bone in the break area.
I hope you can get everything taken care of soon. Prayers for you.

Best of luck for Friday. It isn't easy to avail of help if it involves taxis. Keep in touch!

Hi Charles,
I too am new to type 2 diabetes. I was referred to a nutritionist initially & made appt. The day of the appt., while I was on the way there by bus, I get a call about 15 minutes prior to appt. that she's sick & will call to reschedule. Never did. It doesn't give me confidence to go back. Another thing I could do is sign up for a 1 day class, but I would have to take a bus, subway and walk to the place. I don't have money for taxis, so I can't go until this is resolved. I am getting a copy of my xrays as I see my rheumatologist on Friday and see what he says. Thanks for taking time to answer me
Take care

Sema
