Since I Removed Carbs, Sugar & Sodium From My Diet As Much As I Possibly Could I've Continued To Lose 1 Lb Per Day.

Of course I can't remove 100% of carbs & etc... but I have reduced them as much as possible. Great to lose some weight, but I'm wondering if losing that much so quickly is healthy

When I was told last April by my Psychiatrist that I was "Morbidly Obese" it hit me hard. I knew she was right. Lethargy, fatigue and inactivity had caused me to hit 290 lbs. I'm 6'0' tall, but my Dad was 6'5" tall when he weighed 290+ and I remember knowing he was too heavy. Also, tying your shoes is difficult or walking even a short distance makes your hips and back ache and your legs hurt. I was so sick of it. I was watching carbs, or so I thought. I started watching portions as well as carbs. I joined a weight loss program at the VA clinic in town. I got into the mindset. I started losing weight and I liked it. But only recently did I get serious about exercise, etc. Being overweight and out of shape was keeping me from getting back into the parts of life I was missing or struggling with. As of Sat., Jan. 21, I weighed 248 lbs. 40+ lbs. Old jeans now fall off and jeans I finally could wear this past Fall are getting loose. I can bend over and climb on the Army tank in the park (by myself, without a ladder). My goal is 205 lbs so I'm about half way but it feels good. I also asked for a Dr. at the VA clinic and he said my Insulin was the wrong type and I was prescribed way too much. So after a few weeks on the new Insulin and taking smaller and smaller doses as supervised, I now take only 25% of the amount I used to take. Life is still not easy, but this has been rewarding and very encouraging. Thanks also for the support I get here!

carbs are in just about all the food you eat, only exceptions r meat fish & poultry. all veggies have them, not many (all depending which ones) but still there.

Dan,
I am just not a pic taker same as I am not a selfie person either. There are websites you can google for recipes for Diabetics. I too like to cook a few things in the crock-pot and I enjoy leftovers as well.

Slow cooker really useful for doing large healthy stews and always left overs which are just as good. Soup makers are brilliant. Can be really healthy depending on wat u put in. Did a mushroom soup other day had to do lots because all 5 family wanted some it was that nice. Do with crusty bread and butter 😆
