I wake up with dry mouth and night sweats. I always have a glass of water on my night stand. I will drink up to four times a night. Your being tired might be from not getting a complete nights sleep. I hope your feeling better.

One of the responders said that thirst is an indication of high sugars. This is true, however, when I wake up with a dry mouth and sweaty, I check my sugar with a meter and it falls between 90 and 120 which is the target range for my pump so that is not the cause. I take several heart meds, metoprolol and eliquis. Also lisinopril and lipitor and I wonder if these, in combination could cause some of this? Going to ask the Doc!!

I wake up with a dry mouth and very sweaty. I check my glucose is fairly normal. I take insulin via an insulin pump and I also take a host of other meds. I have recently been diagnosed with atrial fluttering and take a blood thinner. I don't know if any of the meds can cause this. I usually drink a glass of water whenever I get up for the bathroom. I found that if I use those strips that open up you nose so you can breath better it helps.

You betcha, @A DiabetesTeam Member, but I wake up with it every single morning and my sugars are 4s and 5s, so I do not think the nighttime/morning thirst *always* has to do with sugar numbers, just that diabetics tend to dehydrate faster.

This happened to me. My doctor told me its part of the disease and to check my bs when it occurs. I have water next to my bed and sleep with my fan now. Bring it up to your Doctor. Hope you're ok. Take care
