It was taken in the form of loose leaf tea in all the studies. I am pretty sure I saw immediate results, but I will have to test a bit more the next few days and see. We do have a Teavana here in town and David's somewhere, I think in the next-door city, though neither on my sites say they have white mulberry. But lots of different other kinds.
i am taking a vitamin called white mulberry. u get it @ vitamin world.
That's great. I started the white mulberry leaf tonight. I hear that it might take a couple weeks to really make a difference. Let me know how you make out and I'll do the same. My number was high tonight but I had an apple earlier so that might be the problem. Do you have a teavana or David's tea? I'm going to see if they sell it. Although the pills might be cheaper.
@A DiabetesTeam Member Ok. Just did my sugars just a little over the two hour mark here from when I started eating (about 15 minutes late). Tonight, we had spaghetti for supper and instead of taking my small amount that I typically do, I took double to do this test. My sugars are sitting at 6.2 That's pretty amazing, I think, because pasta does typically give me spikes and should definitely have at double the portion...
@A DiabetesTeam Member I did some research over the last day and apparently it does not have to be white mulberry tea. Apparently any white teas will do and apparently people in places like China, when they are first diagnosed are told to drink it with their meals and see if it helps before meds are even prescribed, though it is recommended to buy loose leaf if you can from a reputable source, like typically a local store dedicated to selling teas. I read a few studies and apparently those who drank white tea with their meals would lower their numbers by 20%-48% more than when they did not drink it at the two hour mark. The tests did say this often played little role in overall A1c numbers, but what it did was lower numbers faster after meals, so that in the end, there is less risk of complications from having numbers sitting so high after eating. I just bought a cheapy brand from the grocery store today, and I will let you know how things are going in a day or two. If it even moderately helps, I will go get some better quality stuff from a local tea room and also see how that works out and let you know.
