What brand of meter do you use and where did you buy it? How expensive are the strips for it and do you think its accurate?

My brother-in-law worked for Bayer and he gave me a Contour Next USB meter. The medical insurance covers the strips and lancets so it does not cost me anything.

I have relion and the strips and lancets are about $10 each here where im at. And the readings are accurate. I paid $30 for the package with meter,lancets and strips at Walmart.

The strips here in Canada are about $100 for a one touch.

I am in Canada and I get my meter free and my insurance covers my strips completely. I don't understand why the lancets aren't covered. It's not as if we can get our blood onto the strip any other way. I know I should change my lancet every time but....
