How Does One Manage The Dawn Phenomenon
A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭

I eat breakfast and lunch. 4 hours after eating my levels are generally around 5.2. However on getting up in the morning i range between 6.8 and 7.8. So this is not diet related since my last meal has been 16 hours or more ago. Even if i skip breakfast the levels kind of remain with minimal decline… read more

So What Are Blood Glucose Level Recommendations Based On??
A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭

Ya, I'm really bored today, so here's another one 😁

Each of us should have our maximum blood sugar levels for Fasting, Pre-Prandial (before meals), Post-Prandial (2 hours after eating except in the UK where they use 1.5 hours) and Before Bed (if required – typically just Basil Insulin users for dosage recommendations) set by our Doc

Can Eating Not Enough Carbs Cause Your Post Prandial Number To Be Higher?
A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭

It seems when I eat eggs, bacon and toast with butter, bread being keto with 0 net carbs my post prandial numbers are in the range of 103 to 110 which I know isn’t bad but when I eat a breakfast such as French toast and sausage or bacon with berries my numbers are always range 89 to 95. It’s happened frequently enough that it seems like I need to eat some carbs.

A DiabetesTeam Member

I have lately started to up my per meal intake of carbs to 15-20. It does seem to help with post prandial numbers
